Planning Future Carbon Removal Procurement?

Permanent engineered carbon removals are expected to become an increasingly important component of long-term corporate decarbonisation strategies.

Many organisations are already planning procurement programmes years into the future to secure access to high-integrity permanent engineered carbon removals supported by recognised verification and long-term durability.

If your organisation—or your clients—is planning future procurement of permanent engineered carbon removals, Phaseon welcomes the opportunity to begin that conversation.

Why Engage Early?

The development of large-scale engineered carbon removal projects begins long before commercial production.

Many of today's carbon removal purchasing programmes have been established through early engagement between project developers and future buyers, allowing commercial relationships to develop alongside engineering, verification and project delivery.

Early engagement provides an opportunity to discuss procurement objectives, anticipated delivery requirements, verification expectations, certification pathways and potential commercial structures before production capacity is allocated.

Registering your interest does not constitute a commitment to purchase. It simply establishes an opportunity to participate in future commercial discussions as the programme progresses.

Initial Production Availability

The first internationally available Phaseon production capacity is planned to originate from New Zealand.

As the New Zealand Government has advised that it does not intend to procure the initial commercial production capacity, Phaseon intends to make this production available to organisations participating in the voluntary carbon market through commercial supply agreements.

Production during the early stages of deployment is expected to be limited and allocated progressively as the programme expands.

International Deployment

Phaseon is intended to be deployed internationally through strategic partnerships with governments, industry and institutional organisations.

Production developed within individual jurisdictions is expected to support the policy objectives and carbon accounting frameworks applicable to those jurisdictions.

For example, future production established within India is expected to support India's domestic decarbonisation objectives and organisations seeking to address emissions generated within India, consistent with the applicable regulatory framework.

Who We Work With

Phaseon welcomes discussions with corporate carbon procurement teams, governments, public sector agencies, sovereign investment organisations, engineered carbon removal brokers, procurement platforms, institutional investors, sustainability advisers, registry and verification organisations, and strategic infrastructure partners.

Whether you intend to procure permanent engineered carbon removals directly or represent organisations evaluating future procurement opportunities, we welcome confidential discussions.

Commercial Discussions

Every organisation's requirements are different.

Current discussions may include future production allocation, forward supply opportunities, long-term procurement requirements, strategic partnerships, verification pathways and commercial supply structures.

Early engagement enables both parties to better understand future requirements before production capacity is committed.

Looking Ahead

The first commercial Phaseon Farm is planned for New Zealand, with future international deployment expected through strategic partnerships as additional production capacity is developed.

As supply increases, Phaseon intends to allocate future production through long-term commercial relationships with organisations seeking permanent engineered carbon removals supported by recognised verification and certification pathways.
