Verification

Verification

Permanent engineered carbon removals derive their value from confidence.

Confidence that atmospheric carbon has been permanently removed.

Confidence that the quantity removed has been accurately measured and accounted for.

Confidence that the removal pathway has been independently assessed.

Phaseon is being developed with verification integrated into the programme from the outset, rather than being considered after engineering development is complete.

Verification Philosophy

The objective of the Phaseon programme is to align engineering development with recognised carbon accounting and verification principles.

Verification is intended to be supported by transparent evidence, independent assessment and recognised Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) practices.

This approach is intended to provide confidence in both the engineering process and the resulting permanent atmospheric carbon removals.

Carbon Accounting

Accurate carbon accounting forms the foundation of credible engineered carbon removal.

The Phaseon programme is being developed with clearly defined accounting boundaries to support transparent quantification of atmospheric carbon removed, process emissions and permanent geological storage.

Carbon accounting is intended to follow recognised international principles for engineered carbon removal.

Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)

Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) provides the framework for demonstrating that permanent carbon removals have occurred as intended.

The Phaseon programme is being developed to incorporate comprehensive monitoring of operational performance, transparent reporting of relevant data and independent verification of reported outcomes.

MRV is intended to provide confidence that reported removals accurately reflect permanent atmospheric carbon removal.

Lifecycle Assessment

Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) forms an important part of evaluating the overall environmental performance of engineered carbon removal systems.

Phaseon intends to undertake independent lifecycle assessment to quantify emissions associated with the complete carbon removal pathway and demonstrate the net atmospheric removal achieved by the programme.

This assessment is intended to support both commercial transparency and future verification activities.

Independent Assessment

Phaseon recognises that confidence in permanent engineered carbon removals requires independent review.

As the programme progresses, supporting evidence is intended to be reviewed by appropriately qualified independent organisations as part of the project's verification pathway.

Independent assessment is expected to include relevant engineering evidence, carbon accounting, lifecycle assessment and Monitoring, Reporting and Verification documentation.

Registry Alignment

The Phaseon programme is being developed with consideration for recognised carbon market principles and emerging methodologies applicable to permanent engineered carbon removals.

As methodology development progresses, Phaseon intends to work with appropriate verification and registry organisations to support future commercial issuance pathways.

The objective is to ensure that the engineering programme, supporting evidence and carbon accounting framework remain aligned with recognised industry practices wherever appropriate.

Building Commercial Confidence

Verification is not a single event but an ongoing process that supports confidence throughout the lifecycle of a permanent engineered carbon removal project.

By integrating engineering, carbon accounting, Monitoring, Reporting and Verification, lifecycle assessment and independent assessment from the earliest stages of development, Phaseon aims to provide

governments, corporations, carbon removal brokers and institutional buyers with confidence in the integrity of every permanent engineered carbon removal supplied.
